BMT Group manufactures high-precision components for various sectors. Its product range includes moulds, gears, gearboxes and other mechanical components for the automotive, railway, aviation and glass packaging industries.
The group has four divisions and has entities in thirteen countries around the world. In addition, there are a number of private entities owned by the family. This translates into around forty companies.
Eline Michels has been working as a corporate paralegal for BMT Group since 2017. ‘I take care of just about everything related to company law, both in Belgium and for our foreign entities,’ she explains. ‘Annual meetings, reappointments of directors, as well as incorporations, mergers, ... they all end up on my desk.’
When Eline started eight years ago, there was no in-house follow-up system for our Corporate Housekeeping. ‘An external lawyer managed everything,’ she recalls.
"Together with our Group General Counsel, we started looking for a solution. We first started with a different tool, but at the end of 2024 we switched to Corporify.
Today, the platform is used by the BMT Group's legal team and is also open to finance staff and all CEOs and CFOs of the various divisions.

Centralise corporate info
Eline's ultimate wish is to centralise all corporate information in a single system.
‘And that seems to be working very well,’ she says.
‘All corporate information about the group and private entities – addresses, VAT numbers, directors, auditors, shareholders, etc. – is centralised in one place and easily accessible via the clear dashboard. I use the org charts every day, although I would like to be able to personalise them a little more.’
‘An additional handy feature is that we can link documents to the people in the system. This allows us to store the personal details and addresses of all directors in a structured way, for example. Another advantage is the fact that we can set reminders. When a document – such as an identity card – is about to expire, we will be notified.’
Eline also finds the templates she can use within Corporify in combination with the data in the system to be a great advantage.
‘Among other things, they enable us to automatically generate minutes and to report better on our UBOs. The UBO bank forms are available in the system and are automatically filled in with the correct data.’

Digital signature
Corporify is also integrated with BMT's eSignature tool. This allows Eline to send documents for digital signature from the platform, such as UBO declarations. Once the document has been digitally signed, it automatically replaces the unsigned version in Corporify.
This means that Eline no longer has to take any further steps herself. ‘This is a significant improvement on our previous solution, where we had to manually download, forward, save and re-upload everything.’
Time savings and support
This is just one example of how Corporify makes her daily work easier and more efficient, allowing her to focus on the essentials. ‘Especially when additional templates are added to the system, the time savings will be even more noticeable,’ she predicts.
